WSS: Hillman, fear as basis for human species self preservation
25/09/2008
WSS: Hillman, fear as basis for human species self preservation James Hillman started his Lectio magistralis about the legitimacy of fear quoting F. D. Roosevelt: "Nothing to be scared about, but fear". Hillman stated that without fear human being couldn't exist. It is the fear, according Hillman, which makes us understand the dangers we meet during our path; fear is a helpful and innate instinct. Human being needs fear and uses it: this is why fear gets its own deep legitimacy towards us.
