WSS officially begun

World Social Summit 2008 has officially begun Rome, Villa Miani. World Social Summit is formally open. The opening ceremony started at 3 pm. The three-days-Summit (24, 25 and 26 September) is organized by Fondazione Roma in cooperation with Censis Roma and under the patronage of the Italian Republic Presidency and the sponsorship of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Emanuele Emmanuele, President of Fondazione Roma, made his introducing speech in front of an overcrowded conference room. His Eminency Cardinale Re, Gianni Alemanno (Major of Rome), Maurizio Sacconi (Welfare Minister) and Antonio Marzano (President of Cnel) were present. First Summit day speakers are: Bill Emmott, Christine Loh, Manuel Castell, Ashis Nandy, Nan Ellin, e Jacques Attali.
